Tried the supertrapp, louder and deeper tunable with the disc for quiet and torque or louder and more high RPM HP. An HD dual taper that has about the same restriction as stock, but less with a 1/2" hole in the center baffle, problem was it directed the exhaust at the rear brake lever with the stock pipe, Tried a Highway Hawk single wall straight pipe, straight pipe as a header pipe with the HD and then with a Screamin eagle (HD high performance) glass pac. Then a Danish dual wall head pipe and HD SE muffler. I stand on that one. It aloows a larger (slightly) ID of the head pipe and the HD muffler fits between the ID and OD pipe without clamps or sealer. I've run it past the rear axle 6" so it doesn't hit the brake lever, A Savage will never sound like 1/2 an HD beacuse of the cam design and contours. I think I have the lowest deepest and acceptable noise solution, but very expensive. Mufflers were on sale as take off's and Danish pipe was bought used from Frank in PA. It is better for low speed performanceand torque than the hugh single wall HH.
